Its because of these sort of issues that a sequel still set in HK would be more difficult to create. At least three major nations are tweaking, modifying, or reiterating their immigration policies allow for HKers who want to escape the oppression of the CCP to start a new life elsewhere. Already, I've read reports of big corporations considering moving out and shifting their supply lines to some other country in the region. The CCP (fuck them, IMHO) has imposed its new security law on the city, and it will take years to see the full fallout and unintended consequences of this sledgehammer response. I feel like if they did a sequel, they would have to change the setting.
